This is a phenomenal list of resources for Medical Insurance Billing & Coding professionals! Everyone should print it out and hold onto it. It is unmatchable!

Some job searching tips that I haved learned about in this course are that job searching can be stressful, because there are so many others applying to the same jobs. You should apply to as many relevant jobs as possible and sure that your resume is updated and professional in apperance. Make sure that it shows the areas of your expertise and your strongest qualities. There are many different ways to search for employment such as through employment agencies , newspapers and even aquaintances. When you get an interview you should arrive early, dress appropriately and comfortable, be confident and optimistic about the interview. Always thank them for their time before you leave the interview.

The past nine plus months I have invested in my second future job. Looking for something different, expanding my knowledge, going to the next level. Do I sound like my nest is empty, well almost?
Going back to school was scary and an exciting new venture. I have challenged myself again and with a great feeling of accomplishment I can learn something new. Now I am ready to share my new knowledge and show someone what I am capable of in working and helping within the HealthCare field.
How are companies looking at the prospective employee? The recession has changed how companies are looking for employees. Companies have a big pool to choose from so…I really need to make my Resume stand out.

For others: If you are having a hard time getting into the B&C because employers are looking for experience, you have the alternative of starting a unique kind of business. Many alternative and naturopathic doctors and specilists are beginning not to “take” insurance. This is so they can charge and make what they want. But if patients have a PPO, you can set yourself up as a business that will help them get reimbursement from their insurance companies. You can advertise in nature magazines (seek out health food stores and alternative medicine doctors). Have a nice brochure and cards printed up and circulate to these doctors. The advantage to them is that their patients will get needed reimbursement and be able to afford to continue with that doctor, yet the doctor will not have to supervise or be involved in the claims process. If anyone wants me to contact them about this, blog back.
Thank you Anthony for all the great information you have given us. I did join aapc.com and it has been the best thing for me. I posted my resume on their site and have received several job inquiries. The only bad thing is that you can only specify your state and not your city so you get job inquires from all over. However, this does provide you with websites from facilities that may be in your area as well. My local chapter sends emails sometimes of positions available here in my city.
I have job hunting advice for those who think they should not apply for jobs that want more experience than you have. If it is within reason (3 years) go a head and apply. You already have one year with the school. In my former job, looked at many resumes from applicants who applied for the store manager position but were not qualified. I would call them in for an interview anyway because I had other positions that they were qualified for. So go for it! You never know what other positions they may have available but just haven’t posted it.
I think these are excellent resources for new students that are getting ready to either start their schooling or like myself are at the end, Resources like this are hard to come by all on one place that is. Thank- you for putting this all on one place, It will save me a lot of time and I can focus on the information you provided to gain knowledge of wonderful job sites that will hopefully land me a job in the field of which I am finishing school for.

Going back to school after 29 yearssince I have graduated highschool has been a very scary and exciting adventure for me. I never would have thought that I could have done it. But here I am in my last week and it feels fantastic.
