Fundraising & Awareness
More Than Classes, We Are Family
When a new class of Medical Assistant begins, students collaboratively choose a cause for which to raise awareness—succeeding in both doing good for humanity and learning about a topic in the health sciences and/or real world today.
Students plan a fundraising event to bring attention to their cause and educate fellow students, staff, and faculty. Methods of awareness vary with each cause and are greatly influenced by the creativity of the students and through their experiences and strengths.
Among the causes, Allen School of Health Sciences students have supported in the past include:
- Diabetes
- Healthy Living
- Multiple Sclerosis
- Lymphoma Society
- Child Abuse
- Sickle Cell Anemia
- Breast Cancer
- AIDS Awareness
- Autism
- Depression
- and many more worthy causes.
Allen School of Health Sciences students have worked to raise thousands of dollars in the short time since this program started. The final donations are matched by the school and go directly to the chosen organization.
